About Us
Since 1994, the Barton Creek West Barracuda Swim Team has been making waves as a proudly ALL-VOLUNTEER RUN non-profit organization, introducing swimmers ages 4-17 to the excitement of competitive swimming at the Barton Creek West pool.
Our program is designed to help young swimmers build confidence, refine their stroke technique, and develop competitive skills in a fun and supportive environment, with the guidance of paid, professional coaches. We focus on fun, friends, and personal improvement, creating a positive team atmosphere with 8 weeks of almost daily practice, fun Fridays, 6 swim meets with lots of ribbons, and an end of season party.
As a member of the Austin Hills Swim League, we welcome around 170 swimmers, primarily from Barton Creek Elementary and West Ridge Middle School. Registration opens in mid-March, weekday afternoon practices kick off in late April, and meets run from early May through mid-June. Swimmers compete for the entire season based on their age as of May 1 of the current year.
The Barracudas proudly wear blue, representing the cool waters of Barton Creek, and green, symbolizing the trees that surround our community.
All you need to start is the ability to safely swim 25 yards across the pool—no prior competition experience required!
Join us and get ready to swim fast, have fun, and make a splash!
