Intrasquad Meet Entry Info - signup by Wendesday at 8pm
Barracudas!
Registration has opened for the Intrasquad meet this Friday! It will be our very first meet of the season and it will be at our home pool. It is a great opportunity for the kids & parents to participate in a swim meet and see how things work. The meet will be just Barracudas and will have all the individual events plus freestyle relays. As it is a practice meet, it will not qualify towards medal meet or all star invitational qualifications - more those meets later.
We encourage all the swimmers to come by at 5pm for the photo even if they cannot attend the entire meet.
How to Register -
Go to the www.bcwbarracudas.com -> Schedule -> Swim Meets & Events page to sign your swimmer up! On the calendar page you will find all the event details and buttons to submit your meet entries. (Pro Tip: While you are on the calendar page you can use the subscribe link to add the calendar to your device)
Click the green Meet Entry button for the intrasquad meet and you will find a list of your swimmers. Simply edit each swimmer and let us know if they are coming.. If you select attending, you will be presented with a list of the individual events that are available to enter. Simply pick up to 3 events (10&under) or up to 5 events (11&over). The coaches will be reviewing your suggestions and may make some changes based on skills (we do require that kids show the ability to successfully swim an event in practice prior to signing up for a meet). We do kindly ask that everyone RSVPs even if not attending. It just takes a second and that way we know you didn’t just forget.
While you are there, you should also select availability for relays. Relays are selected by computer and adjusted by the coaches. If you are not 100% confident your swimmer will be there, please select “not available for relays”. If your swimmer is on a relay and doesn’t make it, the other 3 kids might end up just sitting by the pool w/o a full team. You can still sign up for individual events, it isn’t a big deal to scratch individual events, it’s much more difficult to add later.
One more note on relays. You will see an option about swim up for relays. A swim up relay is where we fill older kids relay teams with the younger kids. For example, if we only have 2 13-14 girls at the meet, we will put in younger kids to make a full relay team. The older kids do appreciate it. Without the swim-ups, they wouldn't get to swim a relay at all. Sometimes the kids will even be on a relay team with the Barracuda Buddy helpers and assistant coaches!
Volunteer Jobs -
During registration you will be offered an opportunity to view/edit your jobs for this particular meet. We do ask that if you sign-up for an Age Group Parent (AGP) role, you only pick age groups that your children are in.
You can alway see all of your volunteer slots by looking at “My Account” on the top right of the BCW Barracudas home page, including the total number of shifts you are signed up for. Once we are past the intrasquad, we will be opening up all the remaining meets for folks to make adjustments to their job selection.
