Barracudas June 3 Update: Results, Schedule, Deadlines
Hi Barracudas!
Great job at this morning's home meet! Our swimmers were fast, the volunteers were efficient, and the tacos were plentiful! Lots of personal best swims and a handful of new All-Star Qualifiers, too. If you have questions about the All-Star time standards or our current list of qualified swimmers, you can check out the All-Star page on our website.
Results from the meet are posted: www.bcwbarracudas.com -> Schedule -> Swim Meets & Events page. Once there, you will have to click on “past events” at the upper right and look for the linked files.
Away Meet on THURSDAY June 8th, 4:30pm @ Westwood Country Club
We have yet another short week before we travel to Westwood Country Club on Thursday night June 8pm @ 4:30pm with a 4:00pm warm-up. This meet will likely require careful timing and planning for arrivals because parking is more challenging at this location. Also of note, Westwood is a meters (SCM) pool and seed times will be converted from yards (SCY). The full details from the host team can be found here.
RSVP for events deadline is Tuesday June 6th by 7PM. It’s a very busy time of year and we are all adjusting to summer schedules, so please consider entering your RSVP now if you can! If you are not 100% sure you will make it on Thursday, pick ONLY individual events, and mark “not available for relays”!! If you know you won’t be there, select "not attending" so we don’t worry about you.
If you are attending, please plan on volunteering if possible. Job sign-ups are open and we need more help to make this happen.
Meet details and RSVP can be found on the Swim Meets & Events page.
MEET ENTRY OPEN- FULL SEASON
We've opened the meet entry for the remaining three regular season meets. If you know your schedules well, go ahead and knock out your RSVPs now. We will still send reminders and deadlines each week, and we ask that you please remember to edit your RSVP in a timely fashion if your plans change.
NOTES ON RELAYS
Many families both new and returning have had questions about how relays work, and the link below should answer all your Barracuda relay-related questions. For more details, please carefully review the About Those Relays section on the website (scroll down from the top). As stated on the page, any swimmer who has not personally SIGNED IN at Athlete Check-in by 15 minutes before the start of a meet (4:45pm this week) will be dropped from early relay teams.
PRACTICE THIS WEEK
We will have practice this week Monday-Thursday using the schedule on the Practice Schedule Page. We do have a tentative additional photo make-up day on Wednesday from 8:30-9:30am, but only if enough people RSVP here to gauge interest. If you'd like to participate, RSVP now by clicking on the link and scrolling down to the event.
NO PRACTICE Friday June 9th for Schlitterbahn Day, the "funniest" of fun Fridays! Details on the Events page.
VOLUNTEER REMINDER
Remember we are a volunteer swim team! We need all families to contribute a minimum of 4 shift points during the season to make the team successful, more are appreciated! You can see your own upcoming job shifts and total points by looking at “My Account” on the top right of the www.bcwbarracudas.com web page.
Job opportunities for future meets are now open for the remainder of the season. You can select new jobs or remove jobs if you will not be able to attend, and please make sure your family fulfills the 4 shift point agreement. Any questions? Email to [email protected]
