BCCC @ BCW Meet Info

June 7th

This message is being emailed and posted in the news section on the news of our Barracudas website, www.bcwbarracudas.com. Please check there regularly for news and team updates.

A few quick news items:

  • RPCC @ BCW meet results are posted on the web (see the meet signup web page). 105 swimmers, 332 swims, and 121 personal bests!!!  Quite a few kids successfully completed new events the first time!  Congrats!
  • We have missed photos for about 45 swimmers.  If we can get more folks, we will try to go back to the 8x10 age group collage this year.  If not, we will stick with the 5x7 we did last year.  Photos will be distributed at the end of year party.  You can preview here:  http://photosbynimai.com/Sports/Swim/BCW-Barracudas-2015/ the password is <removed in post, see email>.  If a reasonable number of folks could make a 30 minute make-up photo session mid-week, we can try to get more photos. Please let me know if your interested.
  • Two official meets left (plus All Star).  Remember to signup!!!  See below for details on this weeks meet.

Signup is now open for Barton Creek Country Club @ BCW home meet (jobs AND events!!). Relays are fun, please sign-up! If you signup, please make sure your kids will be there for the relays. It is difficult to make last minute changes and sometimes results in scratches.

THIS IS THE LAST MEET BEFORE THE MEDAL MEET!!!

The rest of the regular season meets are now open for signup as well. Please note there are TWO special meets during the season :

  • Medal Meet - No Ribbons, earn MEDALS! Valid times from 2015 season (excluding intrasquad) are REQUIRED, no DQ. Don't wait until the very end to try a new stroke.
  • All Star Invitational - This meet is for swimmers with qualifying times (around the top 18 in the league for each event).

Everyone MUST respond, attending or not. There is a place to mark your swimmer as not attending. Also, please signup for your job at the meet so that the lead for that area will know you will be attending.

Warm-ups :7:00am (Arrive by 6:45 unless earlier is required for your volunteer job)
Meet Start:8:00am - Saturday, June 13

Responses:Response is REQUIRED. Please mark your swimmer absent if they will not be at the meet. It saves us time tracking down all the swimmers.
Entry Limits:Individual: Up To 3 individual events for 10 and under. Up To 5 individual events for 11 and over.
Relay: Each swimmer may swim in 2 relays (1 medley, 1 freestyle) if selected by the computer/coach.
Special Notes:
  • THIS IS THE LAST MEET TO SWIM NEW EVENTS!!!
  • Heat sheets will be posted on Friday morning on the web and via meet mobile.
  • Results will be available on the web after the meet and hopefully with Meet Mobile during the meet (iPhone & Android). NOTE: subscription fees apply to see results in meet mobile. We make nothing from this fee and we pay nothing to post to meet mobile.
Heat Sheets:
  • Heat Sheets will be posted on the meet signup page approx 12-24 hours before a meet.
  • We will provide printed copies for age group parents, on duty ready bench volunteers, and on duty stroke judge volunteers.
  • Others please print and bring your own copy if you need it.
Concessions:Concessions will be available for purchase (typically breakfast tacos, pizza, chicken sandwiches, snacks, drinks)
Parking:Parking is NOT ALLOWED on the grass on the side of the driveway towards the playground. There are sprinklers on the playground side that will get damaged and we will have to pay for replacement. Parking is available in the parking lot, along the pool entry drive on the side away from the playground, and along the main road. Please do not block the circle or the drive as this is needed for fire/emergency access.
Splash Pool & Pool Steps: The splash pool will be closed during the meet. The steps of the main pool will be closed as well. The pool will remain closed to general swimming until the lifeguards take over and open the pool at regular times. There is NO open swim during the meets or during meet cleanup.
Remember:Goggles, swim cap, towel(s) (one to sit, one to dry off), sunscreen, positive attitude...
Timeline:Expect the meet to complete around 12noon, likely earlier. Please take that into consideration when selecting relays. This will be updated as more information is available (check around Thursday)
