Barracuda Bulletin - Week 3

Practice Stuff:

  • Please check lost & found (next to the drinking fountain near the bathrooms) - we're almost overflowing already. We have lots of shoes/sandals so far this year.
  • Please have your kids leave the new landscaping rocks alone; they're not baseballs.
  • No dogs inside the fence area, even if it's just for a minute.
  • Please don't park in the grass on the playground side of the driveway (ever); we end up with a lot of broken sprinkler heads that way.
  • Is your swimmer learning what you want them to learn so far? Is there a stroke or skill they don't know and need help with? Please talk to the coaches. :)
  • Please reserve the splash pool for siblings too young for swim team.   Especially, please keep older kids from swinging noodles at the little kids.

Where's my stuff?

We had a small issue with the shirts, and we're hoping the big brown truck delivers them on Friday. If so, we'll hand out what we can at Fun Friday and during the meet Saturday.

Saturday's Home Meet:

  • We will take our team photo around 7:45am - during the other team's warmup. No make-ups, no photoshops - be there on time and ready, or you won't be in the team photo.
  • No pizza at concessions - the meet is projected to end before 11:30 - I don't want to make any promises, but we don't want to pay for a bunch of leftover pizza either. Chick-Fil-A Biscuits, Breakfast Tacos, muffins, snacks and drinks in the cash-only concessions area this week.
  • Heat Sheets are posted - click on the Schedule tab - please confirm your events.   Please check Saturday morning for any late changes on relays.
  • If you care about anything you bring to the pool for a meet, please put your name on it. We probably put 20 things in the lost and found after each meet. Please label everything. Towels, Crocs/Sandals, Goggles and t-shirts are the most common things forgotten.
  • If you are a scratch after 8pm Wednesday but before the meet, please email [email protected] to let us know.
  • If you choose to take your swimmer away from their age group parents during a meet, it's your job to get them to ready bench in time so they don't miss their next swim or get replaced on a relay.
  • If you need to leave before a meet is over and your swimmer is signed up for late relays, please tell the age group parents. We don't want 3 swimmers disappointed (again) this week because someone left early and we couldn't find a relay sub at the last second.   Signing up for a relay is a commitment to the rest of that relay team.   If you have a baseball/soccer/etc game and might need to leave early or arrive late, please don't sign up for relays.
  • iPads.  We had a number of age 9-12 swimmers almost miss events last weekend because they were too focused on their iPads and not listening to the age group parents calling their names 6 feet away.  A "no iPad" rule wouldn't be popular, so we might just start letting those kids miss events or keep them off relay teams.
